Contest Conditions for 2010 Legacies Now Facebook Draw(s)

You can enter to win a 2010 Legacies Now Prize Pack.

Entries accepted from February 2, 2010 to midnight (PST) on February 18, 2010. Draw date is February 19, 2010. Check back regularly for future monthly draws for great prizes - including tickets to the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games!

Qualified Entrants

• Qualified Entrants will be restricted to: Any individual resident in British Columbia, over the age of 18 at the time of expiry of the Draw Cycle of this Contest in which they are entering and who is a registered "fan" of 2010 Legacies Now Society ( 2010 LNS ) on Facebook at the time of entry.
• One entry per person per Draw Cycle. An individual entrant may enter one or more Draw Cycles.

Draw Cycles

• 2010LNS will announce to all registered Facebook "fans" of 2010 LNS, via email and by Facebook "updates", the commencement of each Draw Cycle within the Contest and the Prize applicable to that Draw Cycle. In this announcement 2010 LNS will provide all Facebook "Fans" with a secure password granting them access to the Contest website on a Draw Cycle-specific basis. This password will need to be utilized to complete the contest entry for that Draw Cycle.
• Each password will relate to a specific Draw Cycle and its corresponding Prize, and will only be valid for that specific Prize and Draw Cycle.
• Individuals who become registered Facebook "Fans" of 2010 LNS after the commencement of a Draw Cycle and wish to enter to draw for that Draw Cycle may obtain the relevant password by contacting the 2010LNS Facebook administrator.

How To Enter

• Eligible Entrants can visit the Contest website to fill out and submit the prescribed online entry form.
• A Qualified Entrant can submit a Qualified Entry for a particular Draw Cycle by completing the online entry form and submitting it to 2010LNS by the associated draw cut-off date for that Draw Cycle, using the Draw Cycle-specific password. Entry into one Draw Cycle does not constitute entry into any subsequent Draw Cycle. The Qualified Entrant must specifically re-enter in any subsequent Draw Cycle in which they wish to participate.
• All Entrants must agree to provide 2010LNS with their contact information (name, address, city, email address, phone number and postal code) each time they enter in order to be entered into the draw for any particular Draw Cycle. Such information will be used for the purpose of allowing 2010LNS to conduct the draw and will not be shared or sold to any third party.
• All portions of the entry form must be completed with accurate information to constitute a Qualified Entry.
• Only one entry per Qualified Entrant will be eligible for each Draw Cycle of the Contest.
• 2010LNS reserves the right to withdraw entries should duplicates or false information be found.

Contest Period and Entry Deadlines

• The Contest Period runs February 15, 2009 through until February 6, 2010. There will be 12 Draw Cycles consisting of between 17 and 25 days each, with prize draws taking place on the first Friday of each month. For example, the first Draw Cycle began February 15, 2009 and ended on March 6, 2009.
• The required entry form for a Draw Cycle must be submitted online by the relevant Draw Cycle Deadline, which is no later than 11:59 pm Pacific Time on the last day of the Draw Cycle. Specifics of the dates of each Draw Cycle will be available to Facebook Fans on the 2010LNS Facebook site.

Random Draw and Winners

• Contact particulars of all Qualified Entrants who submit an entry will be compiled by 2010LNS for the purposes of conducting a random draw.
• A draw to select one (1) Winning Entrant from among the Qualified Entries for each Draw Cycle will be made by an authorized representative of 2010LNS on the next business day after the close of that Draw Cycle or as soon as practical thereafter from all entries received prior to the Draw Cycle deadline.
• Upon the winning entry being drawn, the 2010LNS representative will certify and declare that the entrant assigned to that entry is the Winning Entrant if such entry and entrant meets these Contest Conditions. If not, another entry shall be selected. An entry or entrant not meeting these Contest Conditions shall be disqualified. Any disqualified entry or entrant cannot win a Prize.
• The Winning Entrant wins the one (1) Prize designated for that Draw Cycle.
• To be declared the Draw Winner for a particular Draw Cycle, the selected Qualified Entrant must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question posed by telephone; and will also need to return a signed acknowledgment form relating to compliance with contest conditions.
• 2010LNS rulings are final and without appeal in all matters related to the promotion and the awarding of the Prize.

Winner Notification

• Each selected Winning Entrant will be notified by email, mail or phone within 48 hours of the draw for their Draw Cycle.
• The selected Winning Entrant will be required to acknowledge by phone, via email or in writing its receipt of the notification of winning, to answer the skill-testing question referred to above, and to provide a written acknowledgment to 2010LNS concerning compliance with all Contest conditions. If this response is not received by 2010LNS within ten (10) business days of notification, the Prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner by random draw from the remaining Qualified Entries for that Draw Cycle.
• The following are disqualified as Winning Entrants:
  1. Directors and employees (and their family members) of 2010LNS and the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC);
  2. Individuals who will be under 18 years of age as of the expiry of the Draw Cycle in which they are entering;
  3. Individuals who have been found by a court in Canada or elsewhere to be of unsound mind; and
  4. Individuals elected to public office.
• The Winning Entrant must consent to the use of their name, likeness, and other identifying information for the purposes of this Contest and other promotional purposes of 2010LNS.

Prize

• The Prize for each Draw Cycle shall be designated on or prior to the commencement of that Draw Cycle by 2010LNS:
  1. announcing the Prize for that Draw Cycle in the Facebook update notification sent to Fans with respect to that Draw Cycle, as outlined above; and
  2. supplementing these Contest Conditions by adding the particulars of the Prize for that Draw Cycle to the list attached as Schedule A hereto.
• Prizes are expected to consist of merchandise and event tickets, not exceeding $2,000 in value for each Draw Cycle.
• The Prizes are non-transferable and non-assignable. All Prizes must be picked up at 400 - 1095 W. Pender Street, Vancouver, unless otherwise indicated. The Winning Entrant may not auction, raffle, sell, transfer, barter or exchange these Prizes or any portion of them in any manner whatsoever. The odds of winning are dependent upon the number of entries received.

Other Conditions

• The Prizes must be accepted as awarded.
• 2010LNS reserves the right to disqualify entrants and/or entries that do not comply with these conditions.
• 2010LNS reserves the right to require proof of age and other qualifications of the Winning Entrant.
• 2010LNS is not responsible for lost entries or entries submitted after the Draw Cycle deadline.
• 2010LNS is not responsible for Facebook "Fans" of 2010LNS not receiving their Draw Cycle notification or password.
• 2010LNS is not responsible for any costs associated with claiming any Prize.
• The Winning Entrant is solely responsible for the reporting and payment of any and all taxes, if any, that may result in claiming a Prize in this Contest.
• 2010LNS may at their sole discretion alter, amend, suspend, or cancel this contest or amend the draw procedures at any time, subject to applicable law.
• Decisions of 2010LNS are final on all matters of fact, interpretation, eligibility, procedure and fulfillment in respect to this Contest.
• The Winning Entrant consents to the use by 2010LNS of its identity for general promotional purposes of 2010LNS, without further permission or remuneration. Participation in this Contest in no way provides Qualified Entrants with rights to market themselves or otherwise affiliate with the 2010 Winter Games in any way. 2010LNS , their subsidiaries and affiliate companies and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors are not responsible for and shall not be liable for:
  1. telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures or difficulties of any kind;
  2. failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions;
  3. any condition caused by events beyond the control of 2010LNS that may cause this Contest to be disrupted or corrupted;
  4. any injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of the Prizes, or acceptance, possession, or use of the Prizes, or from participation in this Contest; or
  5. any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with this Contest. 2010LNS reserves the right, in their discretion, to suspend or cancel this Contest at any time for any reason whatsoever, including if a computer virus, bug, tampering, unauthorized intervention, or other technical problem of any sort corrupts the administration, security, or proper play of this Contest.
• 2010LNS is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, illegible, stolen, misdirected, misidentified or incomplete entries, for any problems or technical or mechanical malfunction of any telephone systems, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any notification of a Draw Cycle to be received by a Facebook "fan" or failure of any entry to be received by 2010LNS on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or inaccurate entry information, whether caused by equipment, programming used in this Contest, human processing or otherwise, or any combination thereof. 2010LNS reserves the right to disqualify, in their sole discretion, any person or organization tampering with the entry process, the operation of the Web site, or who is otherwise in violation of the Contest Conditions. Any attempt to damage the 2010LNS website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of law.
• Prizes must be accepted as is, are not transferable or convertible to cash, and may not be sold, traded or transferred, and to the extent that any of the prizes include tickets, the Winning Entrant agrees to hold and use such tickets in accordance with the terms and conditions on which such tickets were issued. Should a Winning Entrant refuse the prize, 2010LNS is released from any obligation and liability related to such Prize.
• If a designated Prize cannot be awarded as described in these rules, 2010LNS reserves the right in their sole discretion to substitute a prize or prize component with another of comparable value (estimated cash value of will depend on the prize available in the specific draw cycle).
• By participating in this Contest, each participant agrees to release and hold 2010LNS, their subsidiaries and affiliated companies and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with this Contest or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any Prize, travel related thereto or from participation, including without limitation, personal injury, death, or property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy. The Winning Entrant will be required to sign and deliver to 2010LNS a form of acknowledgment, including verification of compliance with these Contest conditions.
• Should any entrant make any false statement in the Entry Form, it shall be automatically disqualified from the Contest and disqualified from entry into any future Draw Cycles.
• This Contest is governed by the laws of British Columbia and the laws of Canada applicable therein. It is void where prohibited by law and is not available in the Province of Quebec.
